How to Play Flip on Stake

  1. Open Flip from the Stake Originals lobby. The Manual tab plays one round at a time.
  2. Enter your Bet Amount in the currency you hold. The ½ and 2× buttons halve or double it.
  3. Play a round with the Bet button and your call: Heads, Tails, or Random Pick to let the game choose for you. Heads is the orange side with a circle, Tails the blue side with a diamond.
  4. Call it right and your multiplier climbs. Total Profit shows the current multiplier and your profit.
  5. Cash out to collect your bet times that multiplier, or call the next flip, up to 20 in a round. A wrong call ends your streak, and you should expect to lose your bet with it.
  6. To play rounds automatically, switch to Auto and set your betting parameters first. History tracks past results.

Stake Flip Multipliers and Odds

Flip has no Difficulty setting: your payout depends only on how many flips in a row you call right before you cash out. Stake gives every flip the same 50/50 chance and rates the game’s volatility as High.

With no house edge, one right call would pay 2x. Flip pays 0.98 × 2 = 1.96x for one right call. Each further win doubles the multiplier and halves your chance of getting there.

Multiply any multiplier by its chance and you get 0.98, so every cash-out target returns the same 98% on average. That only works out if a wrong call pays nothing. Stake’s page does not spell it out, so treat a wrong call as a lost bet. The 20-flip row matches the max Stake publishes: 0.98 × 2 to the power of 20 = 1,027,604.48x, at odds of 1 in 1,048,576.

Over a long run of rounds, that 98% RTP means about $2 kept for every $100 wagered. From Bronze VIP ($10,000 wagered), or from sign-up with code BONUSTIIME once Stake support activates it, Stake’s rakeback returns 3.5% of that edge, about 7 cents per $100.

Rock Paper Scissors also pays a streak of wins until you cash out, with the same 1,027,604.48x max at 98% RTP. In Hilo you call higher or lower on the next card, at 99% RTP. To compare every Original, see our house edge table.

Flip Strategy: When to Cash Out

You control

  • Your bet size and how many rounds you play
  • How many flips you risk before you cash out
  • A loss limit and a time limit, set before you start

You don’t control

  • How the coin lands: every flip is a 50/50
  • The house edge, built into every multiplier
  • Streaks: the last flip has no effect on the next

Heads, Tails or Random Pick: the side you call makes no difference. The real choice is your target. Cash out after 1 flip and you win about half your rounds, at 1.96x. Wait for 5 and you win about 1 round in 32, at 31.36x. On average both return the same 98%; only the swings change.

Doubling your bet after each loss (Martingale) does not change the edge. At 1.96x it can leave you down even when you finally win: lose $1, $2, $4, $8 and $16, then win a $32 flip, and you are still $0.28 down. It also stops at Stake’s maximum bet and maximum profit per bet.

18+. Play with money you can afford to lose. Stake lets you set limits or self-exclude: see our Stake self-exclusion guide and our responsible gambling page.

How to Check a Flip Round

Flip turns your seeds into a Heads or Tails result for each flip of the round. Your call only decides whether that flip wins, not how the coin lands.

  1. Before you play, open Fairness in the game and note the hashed server seed.
  2. After your session, rotate your seed: Stake reveals the old server seed.
  3. Hash it, compare it with the one you noted, then replay any round with your client seed and nonce.

Stake Flip FAQ

Is Stake Flip Rigged?

No. Heads and Tails have the same 50/50 chance on every flip, and Stake shows a hash of its server seed first. Once you rotate that seed, you can replay any round with your client seed and nonce and check each flip, including the one that ended your streak.

What Is the RTP of Stake Flip?

Stake lists Flip's RTP at 98%, which leaves a 2% house edge. Over many rounds that is about $2 kept per $100 wagered, whichever flip you cash out on.

What Is the Max Win on Stake Flip?

1,027,604.48x your bet, after 20 right calls in a row. The odds of that streak are 1 in 1,048,576. Any win is also capped by Stake's maximum profit per bet.

How Many Flips Are There in a Flip Round?

Up to 20, which is where the 1,027,604.48x max sits. After each right call you can cash out or call the next flip. A wrong call ends the streak and the multiplier you had built, and you should expect to lose your bet with it.

Why Does One Right Call Pay 1.96x in Flip?

You win a flip half the time, so a fair price would be 2x. Stake's 98% RTP takes 2% off that: 0.98 × 2 = 1.96x. The edge sits in the payout, not in the coin.

Does Calling Heads or Tails Matter in Flip?

No. Both sides have the same chance, and Random Pick is no better or worse. History shows past results, but each flip is new: a run of Heads does not make Tails more likely.
