What Is Stake Chicken?

How to Play Chicken on Stake
- Open Chicken from the Stake Originals lobby. In Manual mode you decide each hop yourself.
- Enter your Bet Amount in the currency you hold. The ½ and 2× buttons halve or double it.
- Set the Difficulty: Easy, Medium, Hard or Expert. A higher setting makes each hop riskier and changes the multipliers on the lanes.
- Press Bet to start the round, then make the chicken hop forward, one lane at a time.
- Each lane you cross raises the multiplier in Total Profit. If a car hits the chicken or a tile breaks, you lose the bet.
- Cash out at any time to collect your bet times the value of the lane the chicken stands on.
- To play a series of rounds, switch to Auto and set the jumps per round, the number of rounds and win and loss limits.
Chicken Payouts: Lanes and Multipliers
Every lane’s multiplier is on screen before you bet. The default ladder, the one the game opens on, has 17 lanes, from 1.15x to 1,117.20x. Each hop is riskier than the one before, so the steps grow: the last lane pays four times the 279.30x before it.
The multipliers follow the odds. Divide 98% by a lane’s multiplier and you get your chance of reaching it: 0.98 / 2.00 = 49% for lane 4, the first to double your bet. Other Difficulty levels have their own ladders, shown in game: Stake’s maximum payout of 181,060.88x sits on one of them, far above this ladder’s top.
Stake lists a single RTP for Chicken: 98%. Over a long run of rounds that is about $2 kept for every $100 wagered. From Bronze VIP ($10,000 wagered), or from sign-up with code BONUSTIIME once Stake support activates it, Stake’s rakeback returns 3.5% of that edge, about 7 cents per $100. Difficulty and your cash-out lane change how often you win and how much, not that edge.

Chicken Strategy: What You Can Control
You control
- Your bet size and how many rounds you play
- The Difficulty and the lane where you cash out
- A loss limit and a time limit, set before you start
You don’t control
- Where a car or a broken tile stops the chicken
- The house edge, built into every multiplier
- Streaks: the last round has no effect on the next
No cash-out lane beats the edge. Wherever you stop, your chance of getting there times the multiplier comes back to about 98%: on the default ladder, lane 8 pays 5.08x and is reached about 19% of the time. Stopping early wins more often; going further wins more, less often.
Doubling your bet after each loss (Martingale) does not change the edge. It makes losing runs more expensive, and it stops at Stake’s maximum bet and maximum profit per bet. Auto’s option to raise your bet by a percentage after a loss only automates it.

How to Check a Chicken Round
As soon as you bet, Chicken turns your seeds into the lanes that will stop the chicken. Each hop only reveals what is already set, so the timing of your hops changes nothing.
- Before you play, open the game’s fairness settings and note the hashed server seed.
- After your session, rotate your seed: Stake reveals the old server seed.
- Hash it, compare it with the one you noted, then replay any round with your client seed and nonce.

Is Stake Chicken Rigged?
No. Chicken is provably fair: Stake shows a hash of its server seed while you play, and once you rotate it you can replay any round with your client seed and nonce. The edge sits in the multipliers on screen, each a little below the fair price of its lane.

On the default ladder, about once in 1,140 rounds if you hop all the way: the last lane pays 1,117.20x, and at 98% RTP that is 1,117.20 / 0.98 = 1,140. Halfway, lane 9 pays 6.77x and comes up about once in 7 tries (6.77 / 0.98 = 6.9).
Can You Play Stake Chicken in Demo Mode?
No. Stake's game information for Chicken lists Demo Mode as not available. The full ladder of multipliers is on screen before you bet, so you can study it first.
Does the Difficulty Change Chicken's RTP?
No. Stake lists one RTP for Chicken, 98%, and gives no separate figure for Easy, Medium, Hard or Expert. A higher Difficulty makes each hop riskier, and each setting has its own ladder of multipliers.
