Stake CS2 Betting: What You Can Bet and How Bets Settle

Stake Counter-Strike betting sits in the sportsbook, with CS2 markets on matches, maps, rounds, players, and tournaments. Bets settle from the official result.

What Stake Offers for Counter-Strike Betting

Stake places Counter-Strike betting in its Sports product, not in the casino. If you want CS2 betting, you open the sportsbook and head to the Counter-Strike page, where the navigation is split into Live & Upcoming, Outrights, All CS2, and Top CS2. Match Winner appears as the default twoway market on each match, so you start from a standard result market rather than a casino screen.

Stake groups Counter-Strike inside its wider esports lobby, alongside titles such as Dota 2 and League of Legends, plus simulated esports including FIFA, Madden, and eCricket. The sportsbook also gives CS2 Duels a separate area. Those duels have their own rules in the sportsbook terms, so they are distinct from standard Counter-Strike match betting and should be treated as a separate product.

Stake does not run Counter-Strike as a skins site. You do not open cases there, and you do not place bets through Steam items or skins. Bets are placed from a Stake balance funded with crypto or, in some regions, through payment partners. The casino remains a separate product with its own rules, while Counter-Strike betting follows sportsbook terms.

CS2 Bet Types Explained

CS2 bet types on Stake are split by the part of the Counter-Strike match or event they follow. In esports betting, some markets settle on the whole match, some on a single map, some on one round, and others on a player or a full tournament. That split makes the board easier to read, because each market tracks a different layer of the same fixture.

MarketLevelWhat Decides It
Match WinnerMatchThe official match result, either in a twoway market or with a draw in threeway form
Map WinnerMapThe official result of a named map, such as map 1, map 2, or map 3
Map HandicapMatchWhether a team covers the map line after the handicap is applied to the official match result
Total MapsMatchWhether the match finishes over or under the stated number of maps, with odd or even variants on some events
Correct ScoreMatchThe final map score between the teams in the official result
Round MarketsRoundA named round outcome, pistol round result, first team to a round target, or each half winner
Player and Utility MarketsPlayer or eventInternal Stake data confirmed by HLTV, video if needed for player markets, and HLTV only for utility kills
Outright WinnerTournamentThe official winner of the whole tournament rather than one match

Player-related settlement has extra rules in CS2 betting. A player replacement voids the affected player markets. If one player disconnects without a replacement and the teams play at least three rounds in a four-versus-five state, affected bets on the map, the match, and related side markets are voided. A replayed round does not alter settlement, because bets still follow the official score.

How CS2 Odds Work

CS2 odds are the price layer on a Counter-Strike betting market. On Stake, decimal odds show the total return of a winning bet, including the stake, so the quote tells you what the bet pays back if the selection lands. Higher odds point to an outcome judged less likely, which is why odds also express an implied probability.

Stake lets you change how odds appear on screen without changing how CS2 betting settles. In the site header, the odds format selector lets you display the price in your preferred format, with decimal shown by default. Free bets follow a separate return rule, because the stake itself is not returned even when the selection wins.

How CS2 Bets Settle on Stake

CS2 bets on Stake settle from the official score and result declared on the official stream or the in-game match stream. A map is won by the first team to 13 rounds, and overtime starts at 12-12, with further overtime if teams draw again. Esports markets include overtime unless the market name says otherwise, while side-based round markets do not count overtime.

Winnings follow the odds attached to the market and the way the bet is built. A single covers one match and one market. A multi combines selections from different matches, and a voided bet inside that multi settles at x1 while the other selections still decide the return. A multi only wins when every selection in it wins.

Stake also applies event rules when a match does not finish cleanly. A postponement of more than 24 hours before the start voids the bet, and an interruption not resumed within 24 hours voids undecided markets while decided ones stand. Cash out is also unavailable when a market is suspended, when there is no live coverage, and on player props once the match has started.

CS2 Tournaments and Live Betting on Stake

Stake covers major CS2 tournaments as well as smaller regional competition. That includes Valve Majors, ESL Pro League, Intel Extreme Masters, PGL events, the Esports World Cup, leagues such as the CCT European Series, and Stake Ranked, Stake’s CS2 series, a Tier 2 LAN circuit designed to move teams towards Tier 1. Tournament outrights settle from the official result of the event, and if the tournament itself is cancelled, those outright bets are voided rather than carried forward.

For live betting, Stake splits markets into two groups. Continuously open markets can take bets before a map and while it is being played, while temporarily open markets only take bets before the named map or event begins. Stake can also change odds at any time and suspend or close a market.

Stake links its CS2 presence to teams and live event viewing as well. The Team Vitality partnership makes Stake the official international betting partner of Vitality’s Counter-Strike 2 team, with the logo on the jersey. Many major CS2 events also stream free on Stake for logged-in users during the event, so you can follow the match while live betting markets are open.

How to Place a CS2 Bet on Stake

Stake keeps CS2 betting inside the sportsbook, using the same account and ticket flow as sports betting on Stake more broadly. In the Sports menu, CS2 sits among the Top Sports. You need a Stake account first. For mobile, the Stake.com iOS app appears in some App Store catalogues only and is not listed in the Irish or British App Store, while Android access runs through the browser with the same Stake account.

  1. Sign in and search CS2. Open your Stake account, sign in, and search for CS2 in the sportsbook. That brings up the live and upcoming Counter-Strike matches available for betting.
  2. Open the event. Choose the event you want, or open the wider view first. Then enter the specific match page for the fixture you want to back.
  3. Choose a market. Pick the market you want on that match. When you tap the selection, Stake adds it straight to the bet slip.
  4. Enter your stake. Type your stake, review the bet slip carefully, and confirm only when the details are right.
  5. Open the stream. Use the stream icon if you want to watch the match live for free.

Payments, Deposits, Withdrawals, and KYC

Stake can ask for KYC documents at any time to establish your identity and location. Until that is established, Stake can restrict the service, payments, or withdrawals. Stake can also carry out an extra KYC check on any withdrawal, so verification is not only a sign-up formality and can affect how you use the account after deposits.

Stake requires deposits from crypto wallets under your control or from other payment methods offered on Stake.com, using your own funds only. Some countries do not support local-currency transactions, and the country declared at Level 1 affects eligibility for features such as local currencies. Stake also accepts only certain coins and networks, credits crypto after blockchain confirmation, and blockchain transfers are generally irreversible.

What to Check before You Sign Up

Check who runs Stake.com before you open an account for Counter-Strike or CS2 betting. Stake.com is owned and operated by Medium Rare N.V., and signing up creates the contract with that company. The terms also define prohibited jurisdictions, including the United Kingdom, and those restrictions apply both to residents and to anyone physically present there, with the list able to change without notice.

Check the control tools before you start betting as well. Product exclusion can block the sportsbook alone for 24 hours, 7, 30 or 90 days, or without limit, and a fixed-term exclusion does not lift early. Stake also offers daily, weekly, or monthly loss and stake limits, plus Break in Play, which pauses access for a set period.

  • You must be 18, or the higher legal age of majority where that applies. Stake can ask for proof of age and suspend the account until that proof is received.
  • Only one Stake account is allowed per player. Opening or trying to open a second account, or using another person’s account, can lead to account closure, retained funds, and a site ban.
  • Manipulating the information Stake uses to locate a player, or giving a false place of residence, breaches the terms.
  • Raising a loss, stake, or deposit limit, or removing a deposit limit, only takes effect after 24 hours.

CS2 Betting FAQs

What Do You Win on Stake?

On Stake, you win the return attached to the odds on a successful bet, with the stake included in a standard winning return. A single settles on one market, while a multi wins only if every non-voided selection wins. A void settles at x1 and returns the stake. Cash out can return more or less than the stake.

Can You Get Banned for Using CS Gambling Sites?

Yes on Stake, but under Stake’s own terms. Stake is not a skins site, and betting uses a Stake balance rather than cases, Steam, or skins. Opening a second account or using someone else’s lets Stake close all your accounts, retain funds, and ban you from the site. Manipulating location information to bypass prohibited jurisdictions also breaches the terms.
