How to Play Roulette on Stake
- Open Roulette from the Stake Originals lobby. The screen shows the wheel, the betting table and your balance.
- Set the Chip Value, the size of each chip you place, in the currency you hold.
- Click the table to place chips: any number from 0 to 36, a dozen (1 to 12, 13 to 24, 25 to 36), a column (the 2:1 boxes), or 1 to 18, 19 to 36, Odd, Even, Red or Black.
- Your chips add up to the Total Bet. Use Undo or Clear to take chips back off the table.
- In Manual mode, press Bet. The wheel spins, the ball lands in one pocket and any win is credited to your balance.
- To repeat the same bets, switch to Auto and set the number of rounds, a stop-loss and a win target.
Roulette Bets, Odds and Payouts
Every roulette bet pays a fixed ratio. Stake’s page sorts them by volatility: Red or Black, Odd or Even, 1 to 18 and 19 to 36 are low and pay 1:1; dozens and columns are medium and pay 2:1; a straight-up number is high and pays 35:1. Your chance on each spin is how many numbers you cover, out of 37.
Stake says its 2.70% edge applies to all bets. Picture 37 spins, one in each pocket, with 1 unit on the same bet each time. A straight-up number wins once and returns 36, its 35:1 win plus the stake: 36 back for 37, or 36 / 37 = 97.30%. A dozen or a column wins 12 times and returns 3: 36 again. A 1:1 bet returns 2, so it only reaches 97.30% if it wins 18 times. That is why the table gives Red and Black 18 numbers each.
Odd, Even, 1 to 18 and 19 to 36 each hold 18 of the numbers 1 to 36. If 0 counted for one of them, it would win 19 times and return 38 for 37, over 100%. So they lose on 0, like the dozens and columns. On every bet, the 37th unit is the 2.70% edge.
Over a long run of spins that is about $2.70 kept for every $100 wagered. - Where the ball lands: every spin is random
- The house edge, the same on every bet
- Streaks: the last number has no effect on the next
Doubling your bet after each loss (Martingale) does not change the edge. It makes losing runs more expensive, and it stops at Stake’s maximum bet and maximum profit per bet. Oscar’s Grind, the Keefer System and the other systems named on Stake’s page leave the edge as it is too. Covering more numbers wins more often, but each chip carries the same edge.

How to Check a Roulette Spin
Roulette turns your seeds into one number from 0 to 36, the pocket where the ball stops, and settles every chip on the table against it.
- Before you play, open the game’s fairness settings and note the hashed server seed.
- After your session, rotate your seed: Stake reveals the old server seed.
- Hash it, compare it with the one you noted, then replay any spin with your client seed and nonce.

Is Stake Roulette Rigged?
No. The pocket the ball lands in comes from your client seed, Stake's server seed and the nonce, and Stake shows the server seed's hash first. Once that seed is revealed, you can replay any spin and get the same number from 0 to 36.

What Happens When the Ball Lands on 0?
A straight-up bet on 0 wins at 35:1. Odd, Even, 1 to 18, 19 to 36, the dozens and the columns lose: they only cover 1 to 36, and counting 0 would push a 1:1 bet past 100%. With no 0, 35:1 on 36 numbers would return 36 for 36 staked; the 0 makes it 36 for 37, the 97.30% RTP.
