Fixed rules decide whether each hand draws a third card. A total of 8 or 9 on the first two cards ends the deal. Otherwise the Player draws a third card on 0 to 5 and stands on 6 or 7. The Banker draws on 0 to 2, stands on 7, and on 3 to 6 draws or stands depending on the Player’s third card.
Your bet sets what a win pays. Player pays 1:1, even money. Banker pays 0.95:1, 5% less: a winning $100 Banker bet returns $195. Tie pays 8:1 when both hands finish on the same total. Stake also lists the house edge of each bet.
Stake lists 98.90% RTP for Baccarat, a 1.10% house edge overall. Over a long run of rounds that is about $1.10 kept for every $100 wagered. By bet, it is about $1.06 on Banker, $1.24 on Player and $14.36 on Tie. From Bronze VIP ($10,000 wagered), or from sign-up with code BONUSTIIME once Stake support activates it, Stake’s rakeback returns 3.5% of that edge: on the overall 1.10%, about 3.85 cents per $100.
Blackjack and Video Poker, two other Stake Originals card games, run at 99.43% and 99% RTP. To compare every Original, see our house edge table.

No bet beats the house edge, but your choice of bet changes what it costs. Banker is the cheapest at 1.06%, even with its 0.95:1 payout, and Player is close at 1.24%. Tie pays 8:1, yet its 14.36% edge is more than ten times either of them. Banker pays less than Player and still costs less, so the Banker hand wins a little more often.
Doubling your bet after each loss (Martingale) does not change the edge. It makes losing runs more expensive, and it stops at Stake’s maximum bet and maximum profit per bet.

Stake Baccarat turns your seeds into the cards of each round. The third-card rules never change, so once the cards are set, so is the winning hand.

No. Each round's cards come from your client seed, Stake's server seed and the nonce, and the third-card rules are fixed, so nobody picks a card during the deal. Stake shows you the server seed's hash first; once you rotate it, you can replay any round.
Stake lists Baccarat's RTP at 98.90%, which leaves a 1.10% house edge overall, about $1.10 kept per $100 wagered. Stake also gives an edge for each bet: 1.06% on Banker, 1.24% on Player and 14.36% on Tie. So Banker returns about 98.94%, Player 98.76% and Tie 85.64%.
Banker, at 1.06%, even though a win pays 0.95:1. Player follows at 1.24%, and Tie is far behind at 14.36%. No bet beats the edge: Banker simply costs the least over many rounds.
A winning Banker bet pays 95 cents for each $1 staked, and you get your stake back: $100 returns $195. Player pays 1:1, so the same $100 returns $200. The Banker payout is 5% below even money.
About once every 10.5 rounds, by our maths. Stake's 14.36% edge means the Tie bet returns 85.64% of what is staked on it. A winning Tie pays 8:1 plus your stake, so a Tie comes up in about 85.64 / (8 + 1) = 9.5% of rounds.
No. Stake applies them after the first two cards, and its own page says you don't need to memorise the Banker's rules. They only decide whether a hand takes a third card. What you choose is the bet: Player, Banker or Tie.
