How to Play Diamonds on Stake

  1. Open Diamonds from the Stake Originals lobby. On the Manual tab, each bet is one roll of five gems.
  2. Enter your Bet Amount in the currency you hold. The ½ and 2× buttons halve or double it.
  3. Read the paytable above the five gem spaces. It lists the seven payouts, from 50.00x down to 0.00x.
  4. Press Bet. The five gems land, and their combination pays your bet times its multiplier.
  5. For a series, open the Auto tab and set the number of rolls. Auto can also raise or lower the bet after a win or a loss.

Your bet sits on the left, the paytable and gem spaces on the right. There is no risk level or target to choose. Instant Bet skips the animation and shows the result at once.

Diamonds Combinations and Payouts

Each gem shows one colour, and only the matches count. Two of one colour make a Pair, two and two make Two Pairs, three and two a Full House, and five of one colour Five of a Kind, the top payout at 50x.

Stake lists Diamonds’ RTP at 98.29%, a 1.71% house edge. Stake’s Diamonds page does not say how many gem colours there are: our fact sheet lists seven, and the RTP backs that count. With seven equally likely colours, five gems give 16,807 possible rolls (7 x 7 x 7 x 7 x 7). A $1 bet on each of them returns $16,520 under the paytable, which is 98.29%, Stake’s own figure. The chances in the table use that count.

Five of a Kind covers 7 of the 16,807 rolls, about once in 2,401. A Pair, the most common result, pays 0.1x: a tenth of your bet back. Add Zero Match and about 65% of rolls return less than your bet (49.98% plus 14.99%).

Over a long run, the 1.71% edge means about $1.71 kept for every $100 wagered. From Bronze VIP ($10,000 wagered), or from sign-up with code BONUSTIIME once Stake support activates it, Stake’s rakeback returns 3.5% of that edge, about 6 cents per $100.

Video Poker builds poker hands from cards, and Wheel is another one-click drop-and-reveal Original. Both run at 99% RTP: about $1 kept per $100, against $1.71 here. To compare every Original, see our house edge table.

Payouts from Stake's Diamonds page. That page does not give the number of gem colours: the chances are our calculation for seven equally likely colours on each of the five gems (16,807 possible rolls), the count on our fact sheet, rounded to two decimals. Weighted by these chances, the payouts return exactly 98.29%, Stake's RTP.

Diamonds Strategy: What You Can Control

You control

  • Your bet size and how many rolls you play
  • The pace: Manual, Auto or Instant Bet
  • A loss limit and a time limit, set before you start

You don’t control

  • The gems: every colour is random
  • The house edge, built into the paytable
  • Streaks: the last roll has no effect on the next

Doubling your bet after each loss (Martingale) does not change the edge. With about 65% of rolls paying less than your bet, losing runs are common and the doubling grows fast. Setting Auto to double after a loss changes nothing either, and the doubling stops at Stake’s maximum bet and maximum profit per bet.

With one paytable for every roll, your real choices are bet size and pace. Instant Bet fits more rolls into an hour at the same 1.71% edge, so the hourly cost rises. Auto plays hands-free, so set its number of rolls with your loss limit in mind.

18+. Play with money you can afford to lose. Stake lets you set limits or self-exclude: see our Stake self-exclusion guide and our responsible gambling page.

How to Check a Diamonds Roll

On Diamonds, your seeds and the nonce settle the colour of each of the five gems. The colours make the combination, and the combination sets the payout. Stake builds each result from an HMAC-SHA256 hash of your seeds and the nonce.

  1. Before you play, open Fairness in the game and note the hashed server seed.
  2. After your session, rotate your seed: Stake reveals the old server seed.
  3. Hash it, compare it with the one you noted, then replay any roll with your client seed and nonce.

Stake Diamonds FAQ

Is Stake Diamonds Rigged?

No. The colour of each gem comes from your client seed, Stake's server seed and the nonce, and the paytable on screen fixes what each combination pays. Stake shows the hashed server seed first, so you can replay any roll once the seed is revealed.

What Is the Max Win on Stake Diamonds?

50x your bet, for Five of a Kind: all five gems in the same colour. With the seven colours on our fact sheet, that is about once in 2,401 rolls. Any win is also capped by Stake's maximum profit per bet.

What Is the RTP of Stake Diamonds?

Stake lists Diamonds' RTP at 98.29%, which leaves a 1.71% house edge. Over many rolls that is about $1.71 kept per $100 wagered. Diamonds has no risk setting, so the figure is the same on every roll.

How Are Payouts Calculated on Stake Diamonds?

Your payout is your bet times the multiplier of the combination you roll. On a $10 bet, Two Pairs returns $20, a Full House $40 and a Pair $1, while Zero Match returns nothing. The paytable in the game lists all seven multipliers.

How Often Does Stake Diamonds Pay More than Your Bet?

On about 35% of rolls, by our calculation with seven gem colours. Two Pairs, Three of a Kind, a Full House, Four of a Kind and Five of a Kind pay 2x to 50x. The other rolls, about 65%, are a Pair, which returns 0.1x, or Zero Match, which pays nothing.

Does Auto Mode Change the Odds on Stake Diamonds?

No. Auto rolls with the same paytable and the same 1.71% house edge as Manual. It plays hands-free and can raise or lower your bet after a win or a loss, which changes how much you risk, not your odds. Decide on a loss limit before you start it.
