What Is Stake Wheel?

Quick answer

Stake Wheel is an in-house Stake game: pick a risk level and 10, 20, 30, 40 or 50 segments, then spin for the multiplier where the wheel stops. Stake sets its RTP at 99%, a 1% house edge. Those two settings change the multipliers, up to 49.5x at High risk with 50 segments.

  • The multipliers are shown under the wheel before you spin
  • Every spin can be checked with your own seed

How to Play Wheel on Stake

  1. Open Wheel from the Stake Originals lobby. On the Manual tab, each bet is one spin.
  2. Enter your Bet Amount in the currency you hold. The ½ and 2× buttons halve or double it.
  3. Set the Difficulty, Stake’s risk setting: Low, Medium or High.
  4. Choose the Segments: 10, 20, 30, 40 or 50. The strip under the wheel lists the multipliers for that choice.
  5. Press the green Bet button. The wheel spins and pays your bet times the multiplier of the segment where it stops.
  6. To spin a series, open the Auto tab, set the number of bets and, if you want, the profit or loss at which to stop.

The game screen has two sides. Your bet, Difficulty and Segments sit on the left. The wheel sits on the right, split into coloured segments, with a strip underneath showing what each segment pays. You see those multipliers before you press Bet.

Wheel Risk, Segments and Payouts

Two settings shape every spin. Segments set how many slices the wheel has, from 10 to 50. Difficulty and Segments together set the multiplier on each slice. The strip under the wheel lists every multiplier in play, and it can include 0.00x: a segment that pays nothing, so you lose the bet.

The top payout Stake lists is 49.5x your bet, on High Difficulty with 50 segments. No other setting pays more. Stake’s page publishes only that top figure, not a full paytable, so check the strip for your setting.

Stake lists a single RTP for Wheel: 99%, with no separate figure for any Difficulty or Segments setting. Over a long run of spins that is about $1 kept for every $100 wagered. From Bronze VIP ($10,000 wagered), or from sign-up with code BONUSTIIME once Stake support activates it, Stake’s rakeback returns 3.5% of that edge, about 3.5 cents per $100. The settings change how your wins are spread, so pick the swing your budget can take.

Plinko and Keno, two other drop-and-reveal Originals with a risk setting, also run at 99% RTP. To compare every Original, see our house edge table.

Wheel Strategy: What You Can Control

You control

  • Your bet size and how many spins you play
  • Difficulty and Segments, which set the multipliers
  • A loss limit and a time limit, set before you start

You don’t control

  • Where the wheel stops: every spin is random
  • The house edge, built into every multiplier
  • Streaks: the last spin has no effect on the next

Doubling your bet after each loss (Martingale) does not change the edge. On Wheel, a run of 0.00x results makes it expensive fast, and it stops at Stake’s maximum bet and maximum profit per bet. Auto plays your bets for you: its stop on profit or loss is a limit you set, not an advantage.

18+. Play with money you can afford to lose. Stake lets you set limits or self-exclude: see our Stake self-exclusion guide and our responsible gambling page.

How to Check a Wheel Spin

On Wheel, your seeds and the nonce settle one thing per spin: the segment where the wheel stops. Difficulty and Segments decide which multipliers sit on the wheel; the stop decides which one pays you. Stake builds each result from an HMAC-SHA256 hash of your seeds and the nonce.

  1. Before you play, open Fairness in the game and note the hashed server seed.
  2. After your session, rotate your seed: Stake reveals the old server seed.
  3. Hash it, compare it with the one you noted, then replay any spin with your client seed and nonce.

Stake Wheel FAQ

Is Stake Wheel Rigged?

No. Where the wheel stops comes from your client seed, Stake's server seed and the nonce, and every multiplier it can land on is listed in the strip under the wheel. Stake shows the hashed server seed first, so you can replay any spin once the seed is revealed.

What Is the Max Win on Stake Wheel?

49.5x your bet, on High Difficulty with 50 segments. No other setting pays more, and the strip under the wheel shows the top multiplier for the setting you pick. Any win is also capped by Stake's maximum profit per bet.

What Is the RTP of Stake Wheel?

Stake lists Wheel's RTP at 99%, which leaves a 1% house edge. Over many spins that is about $1 kept per $100 wagered.

Do Difficulty and Segments Change Wheel's RTP?

No. Stake lists one RTP for Wheel, 99%, whatever Difficulty and Segments you choose. They only change which multipliers sit on the wheel, so they shape how your wins are spread, not what Stake keeps over time.

What Does 0.00x Mean on Stake Wheel?

It marks a segment that pays nothing. If the wheel stops there, you lose your bet for that spin. The strip under the wheel lists the multipliers for your Difficulty and Segments, 0.00x included when that setting has it.

Can You Improve Your Odds on Stake Wheel?

No. You choose your bet, Difficulty and Segments, but none of them removes the 1% house edge, and no betting pattern does either. Pick the swing your budget can absorb and set a loss limit first.
