Quick answer

Stake Limbo is an in-house Stake game: you set a Target Multiplier, press Bet and the game draws a random multiplier. Stake sets its RTP at 99%, a 1% house edge. Your target sets both the payout and the odds: 2x wins 49.5% of bets, while 1,000,000x, the top win Stake lists, wins about once in 1,010,101.

How to Play Limbo on Stake

  1. Open Limbo from the Stake Originals lobby. Manual mode plays one bet each time you press Bet.
  2. Enter your Bet Amount in the currency you hold. The ½ and 2× buttons halve or double it.
  3. Set the Target Multiplier, from 1.01x upwards. Win Chance shows your odds for that target.
  4. Check Profit on Win, the amount a win adds on top of your bet. At a 2x target, it equals your bet.
  5. Press Bet. The game draws a multiplier: if it is higher than your target, you win your bet times the target; if not, you lose the bet.
  6. To play a run of bets at the same target, switch to Auto before you start.

Limbo Targets, Win Chance and Payouts

In Limbo, the Target Multiplier fixes your payout and your odds together. If the result is higher than your target, Stake pays your bet times that target. With a 99% RTP at every target, chance times payout comes to 99%, so the win chance is 99% divided by the target: 49.5% at 2x, 9.9% at 10x and 0.99% at 100x.

A low target brings frequent small wins; a high target brings rare big ones. Stake lists the maximum win at 1,000,000x your bet: winning it takes a 1,000,000x target, which wins 0.000099% of bets.

Stake lists a single RTP for Limbo: 99%. Over a long run of bets that is about $1 kept for every $100 wagered, whatever target you choose. From Bronze VIP ($10,000 wagered), or from sign-up with code BONUSTIIME once Stake support activates it, Stake’s rakeback returns 3.5% of that edge, about 3.5 cents per $100. The target only changes how your results are spread.

Limbo’s closest relatives are Dice, which Stake says Limbo is based on, and Crash, where you cash out at a multiplier of your choice. Both also run at 99% RTP. To compare every Original, see our house edge table.

Limbo Strategy: What You Can Control

You control

  • Your bet size and how many bets you play
  • The Target Multiplier: frequent small wins or rare big ones
  • A loss limit and a time limit, set before you start

You don’t control

  • The result: every multiplier is random
  • The house edge, built into every target
  • Streaks: the last result has no effect on the next

Low targets feel safe, but the edge is the same. A 1.01x target wins about 98.02% of bets, yet each win adds only 1% of your bet, so a single loss takes back about 100 wins.

Doubling your bet after each loss (Martingale) does not change the edge either. At a 2x target you lose 50.5% of bets, so the chance that ten bets in a row all lose is about 0.11% (50.5% multiplied by itself ten times). After such a run, your next bet would be 1,024 times your first. It makes losing runs more expensive, and it stops at Stake’s maximum bet and maximum profit per bet.

18+. Play with money you can afford to lose. Stake lets you set limits or self-exclude: see our Stake self-exclusion guide and our responsible gambling page.

How to Check a Limbo Bet

Limbo turns your seeds into one random number per bet. A fixed formula, with the 1% house edge built in, converts that number into the multiplier you see. Your target does not change the result, only whether it wins.

  1. Before you play, open the game’s fairness settings and note the hashed server seed.
  2. After your session, rotate your seed: Stake reveals the old server seed.
  3. Hash it, compare it with the one you noted, then replay any bet with your client seed and nonce.

Stake Limbo FAQ

Is Stake Limbo Rigged?

No. Each multiplier comes from your client seed, Stake's server seed and the nonce, not from your target or your bet size. Stake shows the server seed's hash first, so once the seed is revealed you can replay any bet and get the same result.

What Is the RTP of Stake Limbo?

Stake lists Limbo's RTP at 99%, which leaves a 1% house edge. Over many bets that is about $1 kept per $100 wagered.

Does the Target Multiplier Change Limbo's RTP?

No. Stake lists one RTP for Limbo, 99%, and the win chance moves with the target to keep it there: 99% divided by the target, times the target, always gives 99%.

What Is the Max Win on Stake Limbo?

1,000,000x your bet, the maximum Stake lists for Limbo. You can only win it with a target that high, which wins 0.000099% of bets, about once in 1,010,101. Any win is also capped by Stake's maximum profit per bet.

How Is the Win Chance Worked Out in Limbo?

Divide 99 by your target. A 1.5x target wins 66% of bets, 3x wins 33% and 1,000x wins 0.099%. The game shows the exact figure in Win Chance before you press Bet.

What Is the Best Target Multiplier in Limbo?

None beats the house edge. Low targets win often but pay little; high targets pay a lot but lose most bets. Choose the swing your budget can absorb.
