What Is the Pirots Series?
Pirots is a slot series from ELK Studios centred on the Fearful Four, a crew of birds with a pirate past. These birds once perched on pirate captains’ shoulders, but now reign over the seas themselves.
The story moves from game to game. Pirots 3 opens with the Fearful Four clearing Dino World and heading for the Wild West; after that shootout, Pirots X brings them back to their island. In Pirots 4, a monster steals their treasure and the birds follow it into space, and Pirots 5 leads them to a temple in the lost city of gold. How CollectR Works
The CollectR mechanic centres on birds collecting gems of their own colour: a collected symbol pays when the gem colour matches its collector. ELK presents it as a new way of paying out wins: it does not matter how many or few symbols a bird picks up, as long as the colours match. Our symbol collection slots page gathers other games that pay this way.
Each collected symbol also fills a feature meter, so collection contributes to feature progression as well as symbol payouts. When the meter is full, you receive three chests of feature symbols. These can include coin wins, wilds, grid expanders, symbol upgrades, symbol transforms and bonus symbols.
The bonus starts when the birds collect three bonus symbols, carrying the grid size, gem level and feature meter into the bonus. Pirots 2 and Pirots 5 come with CollectR as well; Pirots X is the exception, covered next.
What Changes From One Pirots Game to Another
Each sequel adds its own twist to the same base. The original Pirots plays on a 5×5 grid. Pirots 2 uses a 6×6 grid and introduces popcorn, which lets birds cross empty spaces. Pirots 3 moves to a 6×7 grid and adds duels between neighbouring birds, a bandit and a train heist.
Pirots 4 introduces the Space Bandit, who duels the birds, alongside a black hole that reshuffles both birds and symbols. Pirots 4 also introduces time-based Evolution, so you encounter changing worlds over time. Pirots 5 adds Captain Blackfeather, who turns birds into ghosts, and catacombs with a mummy battle that awards a feature symbol.
Pirots X is the exception: it is a cluster game, where a win needs 5 or more adjacent identical symbols, as in other cluster pays slots. The birds still collect symbols of their own colour, but here each collection raises a global multiplier that applies to the cluster wins.
