TrueMoney Casino Payments in 2026: Barred by Its Terms and Thai Law
TrueMoney casino payments have no lawful route. TrueMoney is a Thai e-money wallet whose own terms exclude gambling transactions, and Thai gambling law penalises players too.
The wallet is built for people who live in Thailand. If you pay in euros, the methods worth your time are European ones.

TrueMoney Terms Ban Gambling Payments
TrueMoney casino payments are ruled out by the wallet’s own terms: you warrant that you will not use the service for a financial transaction with an unlawful purpose, and gambling is the first example the clause gives. If you break that rule, True Money can suspend or cancel the service at once. So there is no TrueMoney casino deposit and no TrueMoney casino withdrawal, whatever a cashier still lists, and no welcome bonus or promotion tied to the wallet either.
Two further clauses close the remaining gaps. True Money may refuse a payment for goods or services that is contrary to law or good morals, and it may temporarily hold wallet funds it has reason to believe came from an unlawful act. That second clause is where casino winnings sent to a wallet would end up.
Thai Gambling Law Behind the Ban
Thai law points the same way. Section 4 of the Gambling Act B.E. 2478 prohibits gambling in the games of List A, and permission for any game at a particular place can only come by royal decree. List A names poker and all roulette-like games. The English wording is the Council of State’s unofficial translation, and only the Thai text has legal force.
Under section 12, the penalty is not only for whoever runs the game. Joining or playing in a game run against the Act also makes you liable, and a player, whom the Act calls a client, risks up to three years’ imprisonment, a fine of up to five thousand baht, or both.
Who Can Open a TrueMoney Wallet
If you are not a Thai citizen, a TrueMoney wallet depends on living in Thailand:
- You give a visa type for residence in Thailand, a place of residence in Thailand and a passport with more than six months of validity left.
- In the app, you choose “Non-Thai citizen”, scan a passport or a pink Thai ID card, take a selfie and pick your visa type; approval arrives by SMS within one to three business days.
- Living in Europe, you have no Thai visa type or Thai address to declare, so the account cannot be opened from there.
Wallet Limits for Foreign Users
For a foreign user, TrueMoney sets its limits by verification level: basic, checked with a passport only, and advanced, which adds a supporting document. The level decides how much the wallet holds and how much can leave it each month.
| Limit | Basic level | Advanced level |
|---|---|---|
| Wallet size | 30,000 baht | 50,000 baht |
| Transfers to other TrueMoney accounts, per month | 5,000 baht | 50,000 baht |
| Transfers to a bank account | Not available | Not available |
| International payments for goods and services, per month | 1,000 baht | 50,000 baht |
At neither level can a foreign user move a balance to a bank account, so while the account stays open, the wallet gives you no bank exit.
TrueMoney Wallet Fees
TrueMoney publishes its own fee schedule for wallet activity, and none of its charges is a casino fee. The main ones:
- Top-ups: the first fifteen in a month are free, then each one from the sixteenth costs 6 baht.
- Sending: free to another TrueMoney account, 20 baht to a bank account where your account level allows it.
- Receiving: free for the first 100 transfers in a month, then 2.9% of the amount from the 101st, capped at 20 baht per transfer.
Cashing Out When the Account Closes
The only cash exit TrueMoney describes comes when you close the account. At 7-Eleven, a cash withdrawal of 25 to 5,000 baht is part of deleting the account: the store takes a 20 baht fee from the amount withdrawn, and the account is then deleted automatically.
If you close the account through Customer Care instead, True Money refunds the remaining balance to your bank account within 15 business days at most. Neither route is a casino withdrawal: both end the wallet.
TrueMoney for a European Player in Euros
For a European player paying in euros, TrueMoney offers no route at all. Opening the wallet takes Thai residence, and its domestic transfers go only to deposit accounts at banks in Thailand or to another TrueMoney account, so nothing in it connects to a euro bank transfer.
The card side does not open a way round either. Spending with the TrueMoney Mastercard at a merchant based abroad carries a 3.5% currency conversion charge, which is a cost on the card, not a casino route. Paying in euros, you are better served by a method designed for euro accounts, such as a SEPA transfer or a Visa debit card.
TrueMoney Across Southeast Asia
Each TrueMoney e-wallet runs in its own country under a local company or operator, and the official sites give a different status in each market:
| Country | Operator and regulator | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Thailand | True Money Co., Ltd., listed by the Bank of Thailand | Licensed for e-money services since 9 October 2561 in the Thai calendar |
| Cambodia | TrueMoney Wallet, run under Ascend Money Group | E-wallet service in operation |
| Malaysia | True Money Malaysia Sdn Bhd, regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia | Approved e-money issuer |
| Vietnam | TrueMoney Vietnam | Top-ups, withdrawals, transfers and payments suspended since 1 January 2025, until further notice |
TrueMoney Alternatives
If you pay in euros, these methods are built for European accounts, which TrueMoney is not.
| Method | Type | Why it suits a euro account |
|---|---|---|
| Skrill | E-wallet | A wallet balance in euros, kept apart from your bank account |
| Neteller | E-wallet | A separate wallet for casino payments, funded by card or bank |
| PayPal | E-wallet | Payments from a linked bank account or card without giving the site your card details |
| MuchBetter | E-wallet | An app-based wallet that you confirm on your phone |
| MiFinity | E-wallet | A wallet with its own euro balance for deposits and withdrawals |
TrueMoney Casino FAQs
Who Runs TrueMoney?
True Money Co., Ltd., headquartered at 101 True Digital Park in Bangkok, is the company you contract with under the terms. The service itself is provided by Ascend Money Group.
Can a TrueMoney Payment Be Reversed?
No. Once a transaction is complete, you cannot cancel, revoke or change it, so a mistaken transfer has no undo button. Check the recipient before you confirm.
What Happens to an Unused TrueMoney Account?
After more than 180 days without any movement, the account pays a maintenance fee of 20 baht a month.
Can TrueMoney Send Money to Europe?
The general fee schedule prices an overseas transfer to the United Kingdom, the United States, Europe and Australia at 199 baht, yet the limits table for foreign users lists international remittance to Myanmar and Cambodia only. In neither case is a transfer a way to pay a casino.
Does the TrueMoney Mastercard Get Around the Ban?
No. The TrueMoney terms also govern payments made with the company’s prepaid cards, the TrueMoney Mastercard included, so the gambling exclusion covers the card as well.
